Thanks to the cooperation of Robert Bosch Kft., the Óbuda University and the city of Kaposvár, the new electrical engineering courses are deeply tied to the industry needs of the city. In this off-campus study program of Óbuda University the students have a chance to use their theoretical knowledge in various real-life projects even while they are still learning.
The new Electrical Engineering BSc in Kaposvár strives to be the leading base of the Hungarian dual system in the higher education, and with that help spread the practice-oriented education in the country. Robert Bosch Kft. helps shape the study program with their industry experience. Both the company and the Óbuda University are fully committed to creating a network of labs dedicated to Industry 4.0. This would provide exceptional possibilities in the field of tertiary education not only on a national, but also on a Central and Eastern European level. The cooperation agreement between the two organizations also lays down the fundamental directions of the common development, research, and innovation projects in the topics of artificial intelligence, robotics, precision farming and self-driving vehicles. Experts of Robert Bosch Kft. will also participate as instructors, and also noted academics have been approached to support the program.
The goal of this soon to be launched engineering course is to provide valuable knowledge to the students by tutors who are industry-oriented and who know and understand the employment requirements of the industry. This creates a solid basis for high-quality education. The pupils will acquire the latest technical and technological know-how in a practical way, so upon entering a new workplace, they will be able to work almost at 100 percent of their value from day one. The plan is to expand the engineering courses offered in Kaposvár in steps until 2030: the curriculum offered will encompass BSc and MSc tuition in at least three different disciplines, thus laying the foundation for multidisciplinary engineering studies. Kaposvár has the appropriate educational infrastructure, and the city also offers great possibilities regarding housing, recreational and sports activities for its students. In addition to this they are launching development and research programs with industry partners, thus strengthening the competitiveness of the region and the whole country.
