Miskolc – Bosch, a leading provider of technologies and services, showcased the outcome of a large-scale investment, announced in spring this year, aimed at the development of new electric power tools for its Miskolc plant. The 2.2 billion forint development project, which received 1 billion forints in funding from the European Union including 150 million forints from the Hungarian Government, is part of a wider innovation programme. The products being developed under the project included a paint sprayer range, rotating wood surface machines, multifunctional cordless power tools, hammer drills, grinders and rechargeable batteries for heavy-duty power tools, and a dedicated measurement laboratory.
“Bosch plans for the long term, and Hungary is a key strategic base for its global innovation and research-and-development objectives,” said Javier González Pareja, representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary, in his welcoming address. “Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft is playing a major part in this as Europe’s largest power tool plant. And size is not the only thing – we are also up among the best in terms of quality,” he added.
“Today’s event proves to us again that a key factor in the Miskolc power tool plant’s continued success over many years is its strong and fast-moving innovative capability,” said Ansgar Lengeling, general manager of Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft., Vice President of Home & Garden division, in his speech. He added that as well as being appreciated by professional organisations, the successes of Miskolc company also put it out in front in the Bosch world. “I am very proud of my colleagues, without whom these results could not have been achieved”, the plant manager highlighted in his welcome speech.
