New head of Bosch Engineering Center Budapest

Budapest – Oliver Schatz, who has been head of Engineering Center Budapest and General Manager of Robert Bosch Kft. for six years, is continuing his career in Reutlingen, where he will be in charge of strategy for developing a new area of business in the automotive electronics division’s semiconductors section. Daniel Korioth, Representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary, will from now on be the sole General Manager of Robert Bosch Kft. From April 1, 2019 Dr. István Szászi has been appointed to lead the Engineering Center Budapest, which operates within Robert Bosch Kft.

Automotive development activity started in Robert Bosch Kft. in 2000, with a staff of five. The Engineering Center Budapest was officially formed in 2005 and is now one of the most prominent sites of Bosch’s world-class developments. It plays an important role in shaping the future and developing automated and electric mobility. Today, Robert Bosch Kft. has more than 3,200 associates, of whom 2,800 work in the Engineering Center Budapest. This makes the Budapest site, in terms of the number of automotive engineers, the second largest European development center of the Bosch Group. It is also responsible for management of engineering centers in Cluj and Sofia. The newly appointed head of Engineering Center Budapest, Dr. István Szászi has been working in the Bosch Group for fifteen years. He started his career with the company as a project engineer in Budapest before working at the Bosch Group sites in Reutlingen and Abstatt. He graduated from the Budapest University of Engineering and Economics with a degree in automotive engineering in 1997, and at the same university, gained his PhD on the control of fault-tolerant vehicle dynamic systems in 2004.
