The Bosch Awards were presented at the University of Miskolc. At the graduation ceremonies of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology and the Faculty of Economics, one student each received the award for outstanding achievement. This distinction is awarded to students who have not only achieved outstanding results during their studies but have also carried out research or other public activities, social or community work. The award, which is open to graduating students, includes a cash prize and a chance to participate in a job interview at Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft. This time, Veres Dominika and Havellant András Marcell received the award from Fükő László, general manager of the company and Tóthné Vankucz Marianna, HR leader.
Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft., a manufacturer of power tools and batteries, and the University of Miskolc have been working together for more than ten years. The company mainly supports students to gain practical experience. It runs an apprenticeship programme, participates in higher dual education and operates its own department at the university. Last autumn, the factory strengthened its strategic cooperation with the university.
Jointly training the professionals of the future
In the dual higher education programme, students can expand their theoretical knowledge in a company environment from the first semester onwards, with the help of Bosch mentors. The company and the university have also launched joint training courses in 2021, with the logistics packaging development engineering course and the advanced vocational training course for engineers both meeting the latest market needs. The Robert Bosch Department of Mechatronics has been operating at the university since 2004, and the company has played an active role in setting it up and equipping the laboratory.
The power tool plant's apprenticeship programme offers students the opportunity to gain work experience in the factory on a flexible schedule alongside their studies. They can start their career in a job that will shape their future, and even take up a full-time position after graduation. And the university helps trainees to combine their studies with work.
"In today's world, it is a competitive advantage for a young employee to have gained not only solid theoretical and practical knowledge during their university studies, but also work experience. We are confident that with our contribution, the graduates of the University of Miskolc will become the most talented professionals in the region, and many of them will commit to Bosch for the long term," said Fükő László, general manager.
