A decade of world-class training for future professionals

Miskolc – The two Miskolc sites of the Bosch Group in Hungary and the Miskolc Vocational Training Center signed an agreement on the renewal and expansion of dual training cooperation in Miskolc, which was launched ten years ago. The aim of the cooperation is to train future employees for Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft, which is engaged in the production and development of automotive components and electric drives, and Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft, producing electric power tools and batteries, which has been operating for twenty years this year; further, to support secondary education and adult education in the member schools of the vocational training center.

According to the agreement, in the future Bosch will cooperate with Kandó Kálmán IT Technical Institute in addition to Andrássy Gyula Mechanical Engineering Technical Institute of the Miskolc Vocational Training Center and Bláthy Ottó Electrical Engineering Technical Institute. In the dual training courses, students preparing to become technicians and skilled workers learn not only in schools, but also in jointly operated workshops in the Bosch plants. From September 2022 young people will be trained at high voltage electro-technician in addition to mechatronic technician, automation technician, production line machine setting and machine manufacturing-technology technician faculties.

The cooperation features coordination of the content of the trainings, integration of new technologies into the professional program, development of the curriculum, professional internships, further training of vocational trainers, participation of Bosch professionals in theoretical education, as well as career guidance and adult training programmes.

“Dual vocational training has become one of the important pillars of ensuring the succession of technicians and skilled workers in the last ten years. The success of the cooperation is reflected by the fact that hundreds of graduate students have been predominantly employed by one of the two Bosch plants in Miskolc or continued their studies. With the agreement just ratified, we are renewing and expanding dual training in Miskolc in order to continue to provide students with competitive knowledge in line with changing market needs, in cooperation with the Miskolc Vocational Training Center,” said Dr. Frank-Stephan Kupfer, commercial plant manager of Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft.

“Our experts participate in dual training with their theoretical and practical knowledge at the international level, and we provide the participants with a place for practice equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Practice-oriented training gives a significant advantage to students in the labour market. In line with our current needs, we are ready to offer long-term job opportunities and thus a predictable career to graduates”, said László Fükő, general manager of Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft.

The cooperation agreement was signed on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of dual training in Miskolc. At the event, different professions and training workshops were presented to hundreds of young visitors with playful programmes.
