Miskolc – On 11 May, the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BOKIK) presented the Dr. Szentpáli István Award to László Fükő, General Manager of Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft. Also active as Manufacturing Vice President of the Power Tools, Home and Garden Division and President of the BOKIK North Hungary Automotive Industry Cluster, László Fükő received the honour for his exceptional role in strengthening industry, improving education in the North Hungary region and furthering the interests of the region in general. Upon being presented with the award, Mr Fükő said, “It is a great honour to be added to the list of recipients of the Dr. Szentpáli István Award. It shows that my efforts to boost the prosperity of the region have been fruitful, and gives me the chance to thank the region for everything it has given me in terms of my professional career and human relationships since my childhood in Sajószentpéter.”
BOKIK presents the award every year to a member of the business community with local roots, who in addition to successful professional activity has given outstanding service in public life in the fields of the economy, science, art, education, health care, social care, environmental protection and conservation, sometimes in recognition of a life’s work.
László Fükő began his career as a quality engineer in Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. of Hatvan, and when the Bosch Group’s Miskolc plant was founded in 2001, he was among the first to register an intention to work in his home country. Among the key tasks he set himself upon taking over the post of General Manager on 1 January 2016 are to integrate Bosch into the local region, further cooperation with local suppliers and strengthen education. When he accepted the duties of President of the BOKIK Automotive Industry Cluster in 2013, he was also motivated by the wish to take an active part in developing the industry of the North Hungary region.
Robert Bosch Power Tool Elektromos Szerszámgyártó Kft. was founded in Miskolc in November 2001 to manufacture and develop power tools. In addition to being a dominant factor in the region, it is the Bosch Group’s largest power tool company worldwide. The Miskolc plant is continuously expanding its capacity and developing new products. Now operating on a floor area of more than 38,000 square meters, the power tool plant employs nearly 2400 people.
