Budapest, Miskolc – Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, is further expanding its Miskolc site, part of its Electrical Drives division. Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft., which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, will implement two investments worth a total of more than 18 billion forints by mid-2025. The company will spend more than 4.4 billion forints to further expand the development and testing of electrical drives in Miskolc and will also spend nearly 13.6 billion forints to expand its production capacity.
The two investments will be supported by the Hungarian government through an individual government decision (EKD), which provides a total of around 3 billion forints in non-refundable cash grants in the form of post-financing. The announcement was attended by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Dr. István Szászi, representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary and in the Adria region. “Bosch develops and manufactures the technology of the future. The expansion of development activities as well as the increased automation of production will further strengthen operations at the Miskolc plant,” Dr. István Szászi said.
Increasing organizational synergy and growing infrastructure
The investment in Bosch’s plant for automotive components in Miskolc aims to strengthen the company’s development activities at the site including respective competencies, and related manufacturing infrastructure. Besides this, the investment will create even stronger synergies between product and process development activities and production areas. To this end, the Miskolc-based company will create 60 new jobs in development, 45 of the positions will be for people with college-level degrees. In addition, the company will expand the capacity of assembly lines for the production of several product types currently in production in Miskolc, such as air conditioning blower motors, engine cooling fans and new generations of eBike drives. It also plans to purchase equipment to start production of new products developed by the group and to ensure their quality.
