The University of Miskolc and Bosch's automotive factory cooperate on training and research

The University of Miskolc and Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft. have signed an agreement on a comprehensive training, research and development cooperation. The aim of the cooperation is to jointly develop training courses and support the supply of new professionals, so that young people leaving the University of Miskolc have up-to-date industry knowledge and appropriate experience. The Bosch automotive plant in Miskolc, where Bosch is active since 20 years this year, has already provided practical training for students, and now the cooperation in education, talent management and R&D will be strengthened and expanded. “At Bosch, we develop and manufacture the technologies of the future, for which up-to-date, competitive knowledge is essential. The University of Miskolc is a very good partner to jointly train the professionals and leaders of the future,” said Roland Ahl, plant manager of Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft.

More than two thousand students from Miskolc have gained work experience in the Bosch automotive plant
Two thousand students have taken part in practical training at the Bosch automotive plant in Miskolc over the past twenty years. More than half of the trainees have found a job at Bosch, and many of them are already working in management positions. In addition, five hundred students have completed their theses or Scientific Students' Association research project with Bosch over the past two decades.

“One of the most important missions of the University of Miskolc is to train highly qualified young graduates with up-to-date practical knowledge for the employers of the Northern Hungary Region. The extensive corporate relationships of the University of Miskolc enable us to connect the economy and the research-innovation area, with which we can effectively contribute to the development of our narrower and wider region.” said Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, rector of the University of Miskolc.

Internship program: secure knowledge, secure future
As one of Hungary’s largest employers, Bosch Hungary has developed close, long-term professional partnerships with several universities in recent years. After the Second World War, Bosch was the first industrial company to establish a department at the University of Miskolc in 2004, under the name Robert Bosch Department of Mechatronics. The company is also involved in the academic work of the university: Bosch associates contribute to teaching and host students on trainee placements. Thanks to Bosch's cooperation with higher education, universities in Hungary can also become directly involved in international industrial innovation processes, enabling the academic sector to play an even more active role in shaping the technology of the future. Bosch is also giving university students in Hungary the opportunity to participate in the day-to-day operations of the company and to be involved in technological development programs.
