Summer buzz in Gesztenyeskert

Hatvan – Volunteers from the Bosch plant in Hatvan once again brought cheer to the little ones: having reconstructed the playground and surroundings in Majtényi Street in spring, they set their sights on the town’s Gesztenyeskert Nursery on 30 July. The enthusiastic employees spent a fun-filled day of voluntary work making themselves useful in a nursery school that has benefited from the company’s support for many years. This time the corridors got a fresh lick of paint and the garden, with its huge mature trees, was landscaped and turned into a leafy herb garden. Neither was the playground neglected in the summer facelift: the volunteers spread fresh gravel under the playground equipment and climbing frames, resurfaced the bicycle shed and repainted its walls. Fifty Bosch associates and their families came to lend a hand on the day. The cooperation between Bosch and the Gesztenyeskert Nursery started five years ago, in 2011. To bring work and private life into harmony, Bosch entered into cooperation with Hatvan Council to set up new nursery groups. The initiative has become so popular that there are now four Bosch groups in the nursery. Volker Schilling, commercial plant manager of Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. in Hatvan, said that Bosch has always felt itself to be part of the town, and “we like to express this through more than our presence as an employer, with cooperative projects like this one”. Bosch’s links with the nursery have constantly expanded over the five years. The children attending this year can take part in special activities appropriate to their ages. They have opportunities to learn dance, language and music teaching and there are sports activities and regular outings.
