Outstanding students were awarded with a Bosch Award

Miskolc – At the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics and the Faculty of Economics at the University of Miskolc, the Bosch Award was presented to students with outstanding academic achievement and practical experience. This is a recognition of the university donated by a single company, which is more than ten years old and has a cash prize, and the awardees have the opportunity to participate in a job interview at Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft. The recognition is granted to graduate students who have excelled in their studies and who have carried out research activities or other public, social and community work.

This year Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft., which celebrates its twenty years of producing power tools and batteries this year, and the University of Miskolc have been working together for more than ten years, and the company mainly helps students gain practical experience. It maintains an internship program, participates in higher dual education, and operates joint training and a faculty with the university. "It is important for us that Bosch's power tools plant in Miskolc provides an opportunity for university students to gain marketable practical knowledge and work experience during their higher education, thus supporting the start of their career. We hope that some of the most talented professionals in the region will be among them, and many will be committed to Bosch in the long term. The success of the cooperation is reflected by the fact that almost 90 percent of our employees, who have been hired from interns this year, are graduates of the University of Miskolc” – said László Fükő, Plant manager of Robert Bosch Power Tool Kft.

In-depth theoretical training and practical experience for competitive knowledge
In its internship program, the power tools plant flexibly provides the opportunity for university students to gain practical knowledge and work experience in the plant in addition to their studies, thus start their professional career at a workplace that is shaping the future. The program also helps the company with employee succession, the aim being that interns move to full-time positions after graduation. The University of Miskolc is a good partner in the program, emphasizing that trainees can reconcile their studies with work.

Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Informatics and the Faculty of Economics are the main applicants for the internship program, and the most popular positions are production support engineer, development engineer, quality assurance engineer, HR, purchasing, logistics and controlling positions. Currently, more than 200 people are participating in the program, most of them are university students. They can work 20–40 hours a week, with full flexibility and can even change their working hours on a monthly basis. They usually help one or two full-time employees in their field of expertise. For their work, they receive a monthly salary and a SZÉP card allowance calculated on the basis of hours, and the graduates also receive a bonus.

Together they train the professionals of the future
The cooperation between the power tools plant and the university is also strengthened by the higher dual education program, in which students can expand their theoretical knowledge in company conditions from the first semester, with the help of Bosch's experienced mentors. The plant and the institution also launched a joint training in 2021, and the logistics packaging development training and specialist engineering training meet the most up-to-date requirements, taking into account market needs. The Robert Bosch Faculty of Mechatronics, founded in 2004, also operates at the university.
